11月3日は文化の日ですね。東京では、秋晴れで天気も良く絶好のお出かけ日和になりました。
今日は文化の日を英語で説明してみましょう。
 
“November 3rd is a national holiday named “Bunkano-hi” (Culture Day) to express love for liberty and peace and to celebrate cultural developments.”
「11月3日は、”文化の日”と呼ばれる国民の祝日で、「自由と平和を愛し、文化をすすめる日」です。
 
“Formerly it was the day to commemorate Emperor Meiji’s birthday, who was a strong supporter of Japanese culture.”
「この日は、以前日本文化を強く擁護した明治天皇の誕生日をお祝いする為の祝日でした。」
 

“In Culture Day, the Order of Culture is awarded to people for their distinguished service to society in various fields at the Imperial Palace.”
「文化の日には社会の各分野における優れた行いのある方々に対して文化勲章が皇居で授与されます。」
